This week the third graders welcomed six baby chicks to the world! The children helped incubate them, and eagerly anticipated their arrival, while learning about their development every step of the way. Helping eggs to hatch and then taking care of the chicks as they grow touches on third grade themes of practical projects, farming and speaks to the thinking, feeling and willing of the child as they watch the chicks mature.
