Second and third grades continued Field Trip Fridays last week with a visit to Nancy and Bob Tures' farm, Grateful Growers, in Harvard, IL. Students saw all aspects of this tree and shrub nursery. From collecting seed, preparing rooted cuttings, or the magic of grafting, we learned how new plants are selected, grown, and prepared for sale. We even had the chance to pot up our very own rooted cuttings! Someday these tiny trees will be growing in our schoolyard...stay tuned!
