The second and third graders joined first grade on a nature walk through Lakewood Forest Preserve.
Third grade is wrapping up a block focusing on farming stories and multi-digit multiplication. Students learned through stories about how corn is harvested.
Second grade has learned place value to the thousands place and is beginning to see how this helps to add large numbers. This is the first step toward vertically stacked equations.
Second grade continued to meet tricky characters in fables and learn how animals can sometimes teach us lessons. Here the bull ox Great Joy takes a stand to be treated kindly and in return wins his master a small fortune.
