Substitute Teacher

Da Vinci Waldorf School seeks substitute teachers to offer emergency support for both Early Childhood and Grades programs, fill long-term absences or help cover a class during a transition period.

Substitute teachers work on a flexible schedule and may be called to fill-in the morning of the school day or the evening prior if possible.

In Early Childhood programs, substitute teachers would follow the lead of the main teacher for that day.

Grades Substitute Teachers are provided with lessons to deliver or activities to lead by the main class teacher or subject teacher. Responsibilities may include tracking attendance, administering quizzes, explaining assignments, collecting homework and providing general supervision during class periods. Grades SubstituteTeachers work with students individually or as a group based on the need.

General Responsibilities:

Candidates for substitute teaching positions will possess the following skills and qualifications:

● Flexibility and critical-thinking skills

● Patience

● Excellent interpersonal skills

● Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages

● Ability to follow plans for specific lessons or programs

● Pass a background check

Compensation:

Substitute teachers are part-time hourly employees and paid between $12 - $20/hour based on program serving.
