Seeking:  World Language Teacher - Immediate Opening

Position Description:

Da Vinci Waldorf School is seeking a World Language Subject Teacher. Previous languages taught include Mandarin, German and Spanish. We will explore any world language based on the proficiency and skill of the teacher coming toward us. 

Subject teachers meet with all grade students either in stand alone or combined classes. Subject teachers are responsible for planning the twice weekly lessons in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy, student reports and parent communications. Creative participation in the life of the school festival and community life are also elements of this part-time position.  Other subjects taught by specialists include Music, Farming & Gardening, Games, Handwork, Speech & Drama, Folk Dancing and Eurythmy.

All teachers at Da Vinci Waldorf School are expected to deepen their understanding of Anthroposophy, child development, the curriculum they are offering as well as their skills in teaching.

Qualifications:  

The ideal candidate will be fluent, if not a native speaker, in the language they are teaching. Additionally they will have completed an undergraduate degree, have teaching experience and willingness to work toward Waldorf Language training. 

Compensation/Benefits: 

Subject teachers are part-time salaried employees and compensated based on our salary schedule. Benefits include PTO and tuition remission for their children commensurate with their FTE. Financial support for ongoing professional development will be available.
