School Bus Transportation to DVWS

The Wheels on the Bus Go Round-and-Round….Right to our School!

School bus transportation has  arrived at Da Vinci Waldorf School in Wauconda, Illinois!

Schoolbus 1501332 960 720 e1504495144380Our school now coordinates with Community Unit School District 1118 (serving the communities of Wauconda, Island Lake, and parts of Lakemoor, Volo, Port Barrington, and Lake Barrington) to offer school bus service at no cost to our enrolled families who live within District 118’s boundaries.  View a map of the eligibility area here. Transportation is provided using District 118’s in-house transportation department.

Children can ride the bus to and from school each day, and there’s even a dedicated mid-day route* leaving the school at 12:30 to return early childhood / kindergarten students back to their homes.

Note: District 118 has a late-start schedule every Friday, so buses will run 30 minutes late during all Friday morning routes. Most families are choosing to drive their children to school on Friday mornings. Friday mid-day and p.m. routes will remain unchanged.

To Set up Bus Service

If you live within District 118’s boundaries and are interested in scheduling bus transportation for your child(ren), please contact:

Christine Grafft
DVWS Administrator
847-526-1372  or  cgrafft@davinciwaldorf.org

She will send your bus pass once arrangements have been made with the district. Please expect a turn-around time of at least three days.

If you do not live in District 118’s boundaries and are interested in bus transportation, please let Christine Grafft know of your interest. Transportation options may become available in the future.

It is our hope that many families will utilize bus transportation so that routing options will continue to expand!

(*The mid-day route will begin on Monday, September 11, 2017.)

A very special thank you to Amy Kunz, mother of one of our dear Early Childhood students, for doing all the legwork to make this possible. What a feat! We are so grateful!
