Retirements from the DVWS Board of Trustees

It is with a mixture of sadness and gratitude that the Board of Trustees for Da Vinci Waldorf School announces the retirement of three of our members.

Nilo de Castro

For five years Nilo has served the Board as Treasurer. His work in finance and budgeting has brought the school to a new level of strategic planning and accountability. He now passes the title to current board member David Johnson, who has graciously agreed to step in. Our heartfelt thanks to Nilo for his dedication and steadfast service. A message from Nilo:

"Serving as the Board Treasurer for Da Vinci Waldorf School has been an honor and am grateful for the opportunities and challenges I have been given. It has been a tremendous joy working with a wonderful, passionate and dedicated group of individuals who will continue to lead the school into the future. With sincere thanks and appreciation, Nilo deCastro"

Brett Haller

Brett is departing after many years of service as the Board's Acquisition Team Leader. His handiwork and can-do attitude is present around every corner of our building. We are thankful for his years of service, both on the board and as a staff member.  A message from Brett:

"I want to thank the entire Da Vinci community for seven great years!  Our entire family is grateful for the friendships and life-changing experiences.

Nancy Cross

Many thanks to Nancy for her work in Development and as PTO Chair. In addition to successful grant writing, she has brought efficient and thorough planning to many of our community events. We are grateful and appreciative of her many accomplishments and contributions.

Again, we cannot thank these three enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation they have brought to Da Vinci Waldorf School over the years. They will be greatly missed. Looking forward, the Board is hopeful and excited for the next chapter as we continue to support and grow our school community.

We are currently seeking a parent to fill the role of PTO Chair. If you are interested, please contact Lynda Julian, PTO faculty representative.
