Beach and Nature Exploration Day
On Friday, September 8th, the students and teachers of Da Vinci’s grade school will enjoy Beach and Nature Exploration Day! We will be venturing to Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park in Zion for a day filled with exploration and fun. We will be taking time to explore the local terrain and learning about the land and wildlife of northern Illinois. Groups will be hiking through forests and along the beach, making observations about their surroundings. We will then gather for a group lunch and go swimming!
We are extremely grateful for the transportation by bus, which was made possible by a $1,000 biodiversity grant received from Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Independence Tube Corporation, the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Foundation, the D. F. and M. T. Grohne Family Foundation and the Illinois Conservation Foundation.
Grades parents, please complete this permission slip and return it to your child’s teacher by Thursday, September 7th.
We ask that each class bring items to contribute to a group snack and lunch. Your class teacher or room parent will contact you to organize specifics.
