Our sixth, seventh and eighth graders recently undertook a color study. First they painted their trees with highly-pigmented watercolor paint. Once the trees were dry, the students began to work with chalk, exploring the way the colors blend, while observing and discussing the intrinsic qualities of the colors. Which colors are warm? Which colors are surrounding? Which colors embody motion? The study of color sets a foundation for further expansion of their understanding of science, art, and the natural world around us. Impressive work from an impressive group of students!
