Kevin Kane

5th Grade Teacher

Kevin Kane teaches 5th grade at Da Vinci Waldorf School.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in English from Western Michigan University and my Master of Fine Arts in writing from Columbia College Chicago. I was first introduced to Waldorf education when my daughter started her time in Waldorf. The rhythm, warmth, and imagination in the early childhood program attracted me first.

I love so much about Da Vinci Waldorf School - from our focus on the arts and experience, the wonderful handwork and farming programs, the incredible faculty and staff, and the vibrant community of people who see this as the best path for their children.

I hope students take away their own best selves when they leave Da Vinci Waldorf School. I hope they realize how much ability they have inside themselves to do things that they are incredibly good at while also putting tremendous effort to refine abilities that are harder to hone. I hope they remain curious and creative.

Besides spending time with family in my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, gardening, caring for our chickens and bees, biking and hiking, as well as reading and writing.
