Grades 3&4: Looking Closely

A recent chilly morning didn’t keep Grades 3 & 4 indoors. Students took their nature journals outside to slow down, look closely, and record what they discovered in the landscape around them.

Using the prompts “I notice…,” “I wonder…,” and “It reminds me of…,” students combined words, drawings, numbers, and observations to make their journals a record not just of what they see, but of the questions and connections that emerge when they give something their full attention.
