6th & 7th Grades—Hand-Sewn Elephants
When students reach the sixth and seventh grades, they are ready for a real challenge. During the second half of this year they were challenged in Handwork class to create an accurate paper pattern from their drawing of an animal, and then to assemble and "sculpt" it as a true likeness. This year the students selected the elephant. Here you can see the process from beginning to end—from pattern-making all the way through to the finished work. Don't they look proud?! Strength, precision, and fortitude are all required to bring “life”—from the the inside out—to this hand-sewn project, and they all did a fantastic job. The elephants are on display in the foyer; stop by and see them for yourself![Best_Wordpress_Gallery id="15" gal_title="201606 Handwork Elephants"]
