Our sleeping gnome plant bloomed just after we arrived back from break and so have our wonder garden children! We are enjoying deep, imaginative play in our classroom and laughing outside while finding patches of snow to sled on and muddy puddles to jump in. We enjoyed our first birthday celebration and the children loved popping the popcorn and making banana cake.
Wonder Garden – New Friends
The Wonder Garden friends were happy to be back to tending their classroom.
We welcomed 2 new friends this week and they joined right into the fun!
Wonder Garden – Balance
A parade of Wonder Garden students edging along the balance beam together.
We have been busy the past few weeks! Each day the children took turns moving the star child around the spiral and decorating our nature table with gifts of crystals, sea shells, plants, and animals. We made salt dough ornaments, pumpkin bread presents, and gingerbread men to celebrate the telling of the gingerbread man story.
Friendships are growing each day and sometimes we enjoy stories and songs from our friends during play time.
Before break we washed all the toys together and put them to bed for their winter rest.
We were busy before break, creating a beeswax feast for our friends, having sleep overs in “bunk beds,” galloping horses, telling stories, and making a winter bed for the root children to sleep in until spring!
Wonder Garden – Deep in Play
The wonder gardeners have been deep in play! Making puppet shows for each other, giving foot baths. They enjoyed a very special treat seeing the star dipper puppet show.
The Wonder Gardeners have been enjoying playing in the leaves. They also recently tended to their classroom by washing all of their toys. Great water fun!
The children learn by doing as they tend to their classroom, grind grain for bread, chop vegetables for soup, and of course and joyfully enjoy playing!
