Nila Stokes

Aftercare Teacher

Nila Stokes teaches in the aftercare program.

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Elmhurst University. I’m currently a full-time graduate student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where I will be getting an M. Ed. and Ed.S in School Psychology.

I graduated from Da Vinci Waldorf School in 2014 after attending pk-8th grade, so I’ve only ever known Waldorf education. I love the emphasis of play in Waldorf education. We underestimate how important play is for children of all ages and how children can learn through play.

I hope students at Da Vinci Waldorf School realize how special of an experience they are getting. As a former student, it was not until I was older that I realized how fortunate I was to attend a school like Da Vinci Waldorf School. The connections you make will last forever.

As a full-time graduate student I spend most of my time studying. However, if I have a few minutes of free time, you’ll probably find me reading a good book.
