Photos: St. Nicholas Visited the Children Thursday, 12/6 Sunday, December 9, 2018 - On Thursday, St. Nicholas and his sidekick, Ruprecht, visited children in preschool through third grade. The children learned the story of St. Nicholas from their teachers prior to his arrival. St. Nicholas of Patara was a third century Bishop of Myra (near the present day village of Demre in Asia Minor). He left anonymous offerings to the poor. Money and food were left in their shoes or stockings. Photo: 4th & 5th Grades’ Service @ Wauconda-Island Lake Food Pantry Sunday, December 9, 2018 - Just a reminder that our fourth and fifth graders are leading a food drive for the Wauconda/Island Lake food pantry throughout the school year. The combined class will visit on Mondays starting December 3rd to take our school donations and to stay and volunteer their time. Food and personal care contributions are welcome at any time. There is an area in the school foyer where you can place your donations. If the basket fills up, please place items nearby. Thank you for supporting our students’ service learning and for helping those in need in our local area!  
Christmas Pageant – Friday, December 21 @ 2PM Sunday, December 9, 2018 - Our Christmas Pageant is coming up on Friday, December 21st at 2:00PM. Location: St. John Lutheran Church, 405 W State Road 176, Island Lake All community members and guests are invited to join us! Morning Drop-off on Friday will be at school, as usual. Reminder: Winter Recess & Movement Gear Requirements Saturday, December 1, 2018 - Winter Recess & Movement As we  move closer to winter weather, an important reminder: students need to come to school each day prepared to participate in movement classes and have outdoor recess with weather-appropriate: winter coat winter hat rain/snow pants (for all cold days, regardless of snow) gloves or mittens rain/snow boots (it gets very muddy and wet between snows!) These items may be left at school so the children are always prepared. Please label all belongings! Thank you!

Medication Procedures – Reminder Friday, September 28, 2018 - If a child needs over-the-counter medication, homeopathic medication, or prescription medication during the school day, parents must bring the medication to the office in its original bottle, labeled with the child’s name and dosage instructions.  The parent must also fill out a medication authorization form detailing how and when the medication should be administered.
