DVWS Board of Trustees Seeks New Members Sunday, April 22, 2018 - DVWS is seeking to strengthen its board by the addition of two new trustees. The length of commitment is for a 2 or 3 year term beginning immediately following our May 2018 board meeting. Trustees shall have a commitment to Waldorf education in general, beyond DVWS and the education of their own children. Congratulations, Mrs. Ieva! Sunday, April 22, 2018 - Did you know that our own Mrs. Ieva ran the Boston Marathon this past Monday? She finished in 3:29:52—an amazing accomplishment in any weather, but especially in the cold rains and heavy winds she faced! She was even back at school the very next day! Title I Funding at work at DVWS Sunday, April 22, 2018 - This year our school was the grateful recipient of Title I funding. This program is designed to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. To that end, we retained Mary Chemelewski, a reading specialist from Behavioral Vision in Crystal Lake, IL. Throughout the school year, Ms. Chemelewski visited and offered tips, techniques, and training to our teachers, she assessed individual students, and she taught mini lessons to each classroom, highlighting strategies to make reading and spelling more successful. Summer Camp @ DVWS—Register Now! Saturday, March 24, 2018 - Registration is OPEN for this year's summer camps! We are offering camps for four weeks between June 25 and July 27 (skipping the week of July 4.)
