Seeking:  Early Childhood Lead Teacher for 2018-19

Position:  We are seeking a lead teacher to work in the Early Childhood program. Part- and full-time positions are being considered. The Early Childhood teacher is responsible for planning the daily, weekly and seasonal rhythms of the year. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class. The Early Childhood lead teacher is also responsible for deepening his/her understanding of Anthroposophy, child development and seeking out new materials for his/her teaching.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and completed Waldorf teacher training and/or three years successful Waldorf early childhood classroom teaching experience.

Seeking:  Early Childhood Assistant for 2018-19

Position:  We are seeking a part-time Early Childhood Assistant. The assistant works under the direction of the class teacher and should be willing, flexible, warm and joyful. The hours are from 8:15-12:45 five days a week, with additional hours on one or more days until 3:30 and as needed.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have some experience teaching in a Waldorf early childhood classroom and/or have some Waldorf teacher training or conference attendance.

Position:  We are seeking a part-time Spanish teacher. This job includes preparing and teaching ten 40-minute periods a week to first through eighth grade students.

Seeking:  Movement and Farming Teacher for 2018-2019

Position:  We are seeking a teacher to fill the dual role of Movement and Games/Farm and Garden teacher. If two qualified candidates present themselves, we would consider the possibility of splitting the role. The Movement and Games teacher is responsible for planning the daily and weekly games of the year. The teacher will also work with fifth grade students to prepare for the Pentathlon and will assist in the preparation of the event as well as accompany the students during the event. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class. The Movement teacher is also responsible for deepening his/her understanding of Anthroposophy, child development and seeking out new materials for his/her teaching.

The Farm and Garden teacher is responsible for planning the daily, weekly and block rhythms of the year for this subject, including composting, soil preparation, planting, and harvesting. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy, biodynamic gardening principles, and in light of the needs of the class. The teacher is also responsible for deepening his/her understanding of Anthroposophy, child development and seeking out new materials for his/her teaching.

Qualifications:  A strong candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and ideally some Waldorf teacher training and/or three years successful Waldorf teaching experience. The candidate will also have an understanding of the garden rhythms of the year, plant and garden care.

Pay/Benefits:  This is an exempt position. The pay is commensurate with experience and training. Benefits include commensurate tuition remission and funds for ongoing professional development.
