This year’s Michaelmas Festival will be held on Saturday, October 2nd from 1pm to 6pm. This festival is open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends and family! Pony rides, food and other fun activities will be available. Tickets are sold at the door.

Welcome Back to School Pot Luck on Saturday

Just a reminder to all our currently enrolled parents to join us at the Pot Luck on Saturday, September 11th. The event will run from noon to 3pm and will give us all a chance to mingle with old and new friends while the children can enjoy free play on the playground. Everyone please bring a dish to share, based on the first letter of their last name: A-F Drinks, G-L Main Courses, M-R Sides/Salads, S-Z Desserts. We hope to see you there!

Please note – in the event of rain, the picnic will be cancelled. If you are unsure on the weather forecast, please call the school (847-526-1372) after 11 am, when a decision will be made.

UPDATE: as of 11 am Saturday, the potluck picnic IS still going to be happening! Please join us for some food, fun and conversation!

Brilliant Parenting Discussion Group

The Brilliant Parenting Discussion Group will meet at Water’s Edge Waldorf School, 150 W. Bonner Road at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month to discuss a variety of topics of interest to parents who take a mindful approach to the choices they make in raising their children. The group is open to the public, and meetings are free. Please call Claudia at 224-612-4758 to register.

Saturday Parent Morning with Leo Klein “Art in the Waldorf School: Meeting the Developing Child.” 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. All parents should plan to attend. Limited childcare will be offered for a fee by some of our older students and graduates, but we encourage you to make your own childcare arrangements if you can. If you do need us to provide childcare, please register in the office. Sign up for the event by the parent mailboxes.

Don't forget to take a look at Leo Klein's artwork, on display outside the community room at the school!

Some people may have noticed one or two items on the web site not working recently. This is due to a change in the hosting company that provides the server space for our web site. While we have been trying to get things back up quickly, some things take a little longer than others.

Helping Hands Day, 9/19/09

Just a reminder for all our parents – Helping Hands Day is this Saturday. Child Care will be provided for those who need it.(please bring a water bottle and snack for your child)

Work is scheduled to run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be some general cleanup of the yard and garden in preparation for Michaelmas on the 26th, and a new sand box will be created for the children as well!

Many hands make light work! Please RSVP to Christine Grafft (cgrafft@aol.com) if you can attend.
