7th Grade – In the Classroom 11/8/2019

7th Grade Renaissance Block

We are having a wonderful time exploring the mood and context of the 1300-1600s and finding that so much of our history is cyclical in many ways. One of the important aspects of this block is to help seventh graders understand cause and effect. For every action there is some sort of reaction (this theory does not just apply to physics!) The class has already had some meaningful discussions. This is the age when debate and conversation really get exciting.

How difficult would it be to create artwork on a ceiling?

The seventh grade students tried their hands at it, with Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel masterpiece in mind.

7th Grade Geometry Block

The seventh graders have continued and advanced their study of geometry this year, including the proof of the Pythagorean Theorum for classical right triangles, the Golden Spiral, and Pentagonagram.
